Biography

Sarah Howes is the Director and Counsel of Government Affairs and Public Policy at the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. In this role, Sarah specializes in copyright, image and voice rights, inalienability, child labor laws, and sexual harassment policy. Sarah is known for her expertise and passionate advocacy on behalf of the American artist and broadcaster.

Prior to joining SAG-AFTRA, Sarah worked as the Director of Legal Affairs/Legal Fellow for the Copyright Alliance in Washington, D.C., and the Legal Programs Manager for Springboard for the Art’s Minnesota Lawyers for the Arts program in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she established legal literacy workshops, a legal clinic, and a pro bono litigation program for artists in the state.

In addition to her career as an attorney, Sarah is a playwright.
